PMP & ITTO’s Background
PMP, which stands for Project Management Professional, is a globally recognized certification for project managers. In the context of PMP, Inputs, Tools & Techniques, and Outputs (ITTOs) refer to the three components that make up the processes described in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) guide.
- Inputs: These are the resources, information, and documents that are required to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close a project. Inputs provide the necessary context and data for project activities.
- Tools & Techniques: These are the methods, techniques, and software used to perform various project management activities. They provide guidance and aid in accomplishing project objectives effectively and efficiently.
- Outputs: These are the results, deliverables, and documents produced as a result of project management activities. Outputs represent the tangible or intangible outcomes of each process.
The ITTOs illustrate the flow of information, resources, and activities throughout the project management processes. They demonstrate how inputs are transformed using specific tools and techniques to generate desired outputs.
Understanding ITTOs is essential for PMP exam preparation as it helps project managers comprehend the interconnectedness of different project management processes and how they contribute to project success.
